What’s the story behind Day 1 Studio?
At the very beginning, we had this vision of having loyal clients who always go to us for beauty needs, for a fresh look.
We named the salon Day 1 because we wanted to be a place for fresh beginnings. Because when you start anew, you start with Day 1. It’s also really inspired by friendship.
What are you most proud of about Day 1?
Of course, I'm really proud of my team. They were handpicked by me and my husband and we had to train them as well. Everyone's on the same page.
We had to be here during the pandemic. Day 1 has become our instrument to support the families we need to support. With them in mind, I really had to do everything I can to make sure we stay open.
What’s your fearless hair trend forecast for 2025?
For next year, we actually predict that people will go more wild with their hair—more vibrant, more radiant hair, more blonde. I think people are more ready now to slay [when it comes with their style] because everything is just more accessible.
But when it comes to ever-changing hair, the ultimate concern remains: why does it fade so fast? What’s your expert recommendation to maintain the vibrance of color-treated hair and prevent color from washing off?
It’s actually such a waste if you've gone to the salon, spent a lot [of time and money] already, only to get home with a color that fades so fast. You have to have a good hair care system even at home.
