In 2017, Sam brought this vision to life with the Benibana Beauty Hub. It found its first home at the Flossom Place—a quaint compound in San Juan where people commune over coffee, food, and beauty services.

“We want trips to our salon to become something to look forward to—a chance for our customers to try something new,” Sam explains. Each Benibana branch, including the Benibana Hair Atelier at Admiral Hotel and Three Central Mall, offers a distinct experience for those who visit—first-timers or not. Their branches are located in spaces that feel like a discovery, places that people stumble upon to explore at their own pace.
“There’s not a lot of common architectural elements between these three salons which makes going to each branch a different experience,” Eizelle Yee, Benibana’s co-founder and resident architect, says. “What all branches have in common is the soft feminine aesthetic that’s familiar to our Benibana community. Our warm and inviting interiors always welcome you back to your favorite place.”

The foilayage technique is a hair coloring method which blends traditional balayage with foil highlights. It has since become one of their best-selling services due to their mastery of the craft, which draws patrons back again and again.
But what truly sets Benibana apart is its dedication to Japanese treatments. Services like the Japanese lash lift and the Japanese milk treatment for hair are constant favorites among their customers. As part of their commitment to deliver authentic and excellent services, Benibana had licensed trainers from Japan come to the Philippines to teach their staff the proper and best practices of their Japanese services.
